Influenced by the traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer, “Kintsugi” (2025) is a direct reflection from Kira Demi’s original poem of the same title, “Kintsugi” (2018), and is part of her broader project “petals & glimmers.”
Exploring themes of resilience, transformation, and reflection, “Kintsugi” is a gentle reminder that although in life we will encounter loss, face adversity, and endure hardships that may break us - we also have the tools within us to repair our vessels, and in doing so create something so beautiful.
